Take Advantage of 40+ Miles of Gravity-Fed Trails at Trestle Bike Park this Summer!

Winter Park Resort is more than a ski destination. In summer, the mountain transforms into a downhill biking mecca when Trestle, the United States' largest full-service downhill bike park right here in our little town of Winter Park, opens up for the season. The old "earn your turns" expression takes a backseat as bikers take advantage of the gondola and lift rides up to hop on the adrenaline-fueled descents ending at the resort's base. From smoother, wider trails designed for the beginner downhill rider to "expert only" trails with steep terrain and jumps for days, the Trestle trail crew has created something for everyone.

The bike park opened its first trail,…

Spring Snowmelt Signals Rafting Season Is "Just Around the Bend"

With snowpack here in Grand County at relatively high levels well into the spring and the warmer temperatures getting the big spring melt underway, rafters are gearing up for a fun and long floating season. Sunny, warm days have us all digging out the sandals and jumping across puddles that are filling up from a season of heavy snowfall - puddle-filled parking lots are the precursor to rising rivers. While long summer days might mean biking, hiking, and fishing for many, here at the headwaters of the Colorado River, spring signals the rafting world to celebrate the start of boating season.

Whether you're a novice on the water or a seasoned rafter, Grand County's waters are ready…

Consistent Snowfall + Strong Snowpack Throughout the 2022-23 Ski Season Leaves Winter Park Resort's Mary Jane's Closing Date TBD

Winter Park Resort boasts its 7 Territories across its 3,081 acres of terrain: Winter Park Territory, Vasquez Ridge, Parsenn Bowl, Terrain Park, Eagle Wind, The Cirque, and, what some might call the crown jewel of Winter Park: the Mary Jane. Endearingly referred to as "the Jane Side," its steep terrain covered in bumps makes the "No Pain, No Jane" stickers hit home for those who've spent a day skiing the Jane and woken up with legs that betray them. You might have even seen a "Don't Groom Mary Jane" bumper sticker or two around town - those who love the bumps can't get enough of them and don't want it any other way!

We've lived through all the tree cutting experiences you can imagine. The fairy-tale jaunt through the woods with hot chocolate on a bluebird day? The best. Post-holing through the woods to find the perfect tree only to find it's 5-feet too tall when you get it home? Been there.
