Planning a Stress-free Thanksgiving Dinner? Dine-In or Order To-Go at One of Our Local Favorites!
Whether you're visiting for the holiday or call the Fraser Valley your home, Thanksgiving week has so much to offer if you find yourself in Grand County these next few days. With the ski area open and in full swing, tubing hills ready to welcome guests, and enough snow on the ground to get out for a cross-country ski, opportunities to play outside are around every corner. Events like the Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot, Cooper Creek Square Celebration of Lights, and Winter Park Resort Holiday Tree Lighting give that festive feel to kick off the holiday season. You might want to spend your time enjoying all Grand County has to offer and leave the Thanksgiving feast prep to the professionals. Plenty of restaurants are open Thanksgiving Day, but we've put together a few of our favorites that serve a full-on traditional Thanksgiving meal should you want to skip the hours in the kitchen and focus on taking advantage of all the opportunities in this place we call home!
DENO'S MOUNTAIN BISTRO
Deno's is a local favorite. Right on Main Street in Winter Park across from Cooper Creek Square, their team goes all out for Thanksgiving. With handcrafted options like traditional roasted turkey, signature steaks, butternut squash soup, and holiday salad, we have no doubt they'll have an exceptional meal made by a seasoned, upscale kitchen staff --and without the prep and dishes!
Make a reservation or pre-order for your take-home Thanksgiving dinner online on their website. It's a great stop on your way home from the ski area before you go cozy up by the fire!
SUNSPOT MOUNTAINTOP LODGE
Enjoying Thanksgiving dinner at 10,700 feet? Sign us up! End your day on the mountain with a buffet dinner at Sunspot Mountaintop Lodge from 5:30-7pm on Thanksgiving Day. Take the gondola up, soak in the views, and dig in to the delicious meal they've prepared for you and yours. Try crab, prawns, turkey breast, wild salmon, prime rib, glazed ham, or vegetable cassoulet (or all of them!) at the expertly curated buffet presented by the team at Winter Park Resort. It's easy to be aware of all you have to be grateful for when you're looking at from what feels like the top of the world!
Adult meals are $110, and children 10 and under are $40. Gondola rides and non-alcoholic beverages are included in the cost. Make your reservations today to ensure you get to experience Thanksgiving mountain-top style!
VERTICAL BISTRO
Nestled in the village at Winter Park Resort, Vertical Bistro is ready for you this Thanksgiving! One of our favorite après ski stops, Vertical brings an intimate and quality dining experience to the village. Make your reservations here so you can be sure to enjoy their traditional holiday menu (or full menu if turkey isn't your thing). Stop by after skiing or make it a destination--you won't be disappointed!
RANCH HOUSE RESTAURANT
Devil's Thumb Ranch's Ranch House Restaurant is a true fine dining experience in Grand County. Serving both resort guests and non-lodging guests, the Ranch House offers dining in the Rockies at its best. Their Thanksgiving Day menu includes delicacies like Colorado braised lamb, stuffed turkey roulade, pumpkin velouté, and Thanksgiving cheesecake. The setting and food can't be beat, and we love that they still open the Ranch House to the public despite the majority of Devil's Thumb Ranch Resort being reserved for guests only. Serving Thanksgiving dinner from 5-9m at $65 a person, the Ranch House is ready for you! Call 970.726-5633 to make your reservation today.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
We hope you enjoy this time of reflection and celebrating all we have to be grateful for and that this week is spent with people you love doing something you love! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
