Game On: Enjoy the Super Bowl Mountain-Style!

Whether you're a Chiefs fan or an Eagles fan (or neither!) or whether you plan to spend the day playing in the snow or curled up by the fire, you're sure to find the perfect spot to watch the game if you're in Grand County this weekend. Looking for a big party with all the screens and all the energy? Prefer a more mellow game day experience at your home or vacation rental? Is getting in as many turns as possible before kick off your top priority? Or are you just in it for the game day food and halftime show? Regardless of your ideal Super Bowl Sunday, the Fraser Valley has you covered.

GRANBY RANCH SUPER BOWL WATCH PARTY

If skiing and riding until the lifts stop turning is your goal and you'd rather the game day food be hot and ready when you get off the mountain, take advantage of Granby Ranch's Super Bowl Watch Party at Granby's family-friendly ski resort! 8350Lounge is on the third floor of the base lodge building and is hosting the most official watch party in the county. Doors open at 3:30, and kickoff is at 4:30. They'll be loading up the "Tailgate Appetizer Buffet," complete with all your favorite game day food: wings, tacos, pretzel bites, pigs in a blanket, and other go-to tailgate snacks while the Chiefs take on the Eagles on the big screens. No need to even change out of your ski gear! Purchase your tickets in advance to lock in the best price ($35 for adults; $20 for juniors 4-12). But you can always buy  tickets at the door should you be making last-minute game day plans!

RESTAURANTS + BARS

The Valley is full of sports bars and restaurants that will be ready to host you as you watch the Super Bowl! To catch the match up after a day riding at Winter Park Resort, stop by Stoney's Winter Park Sports Bar in the Village and not miss a play as you're surrounded by their 19 indoor and 2 outdoor TVs. Or head into downtown Winter Park and grab a seat at Big Trout Brewing (the bus will drop you off at their front door), The Ditch (best margaritas in town), Randi's (fun Irish pub scene), Deno's (our favorite wings), The Pub (born for game day food) , or Noble Buck (brewery with wings and beer specials).  Or head a little further down Highway 40 to Fraser and catch the game in The Foundry's TV-packed dining and bowling area or on Fisher's Bar's two 85" screens.

If you need a ride home, hop on The Lift, our local free transit system.

PARTY AT HOME

An intimate gathering at your place might be more your style. Skip the crowded bar scene and cozy up with some friends and family while the game plays. And there are plenty of places to pick up your game day food on your way home from whatever mountain adventure the day brings. Try a customized charcuterie board and some pizza at Adventures Decanted or order Wild Horse Catering's "Super Bowl Snack Pack," a spread complete with charcuterie, pulled pork sliders, chicken wings, crudités, and pigs in a blanket.

Is having your own mountain home to host Super Bowl Sunday one of your 2023 goals? We'd love to help you navigate the market and find the property you're looking for so you'll be ready to host 2024's Super Bowl LVIII mountain-style!
