The Grand Foundation Truly Makes Life 'Grand'

When we think about the effect the Grand Foundation has had on the quality of life in Grand County since its inception in 1996, there's no question that they have and continue to enrich our community in powerful ways. From Winter Park to Grand Lake to Kremmling, the work the Grand Foundation does tangibly touches lives. Their quick response and ability to centralize giving, raise awareness, and disperse funds after the devastating East Troublesome Fire is a testament to the foundation's commitment to our community.

The scope of their partnerships and support is far-reaching. As the glue that binds the nonprofit sector in the county together, the Grand Foundation partners with organizations…

Treat Yourself at One of Our Local Spas!

Grand County is home to some of the best outdoor recreation in the country. Known for our downhill skiing, snowboarding, Nordic skiing, and snowmobiling in the winter and biking, hiking, fishing, and boating in the summer, the old "time flies when you're having fun" adage rings true when you're playing outside in the Fraser Valley. While the opportunities to take advantage of all nature has to offer bring people here, our little valley has so much more to offer: dining, art, festivals, and spas complement the mountain experience. If a little relaxing and rejuvenating speaks to you, then be sure to check out our local spas after a long day on the mountain (or curled up inside by the fire, soaking in the…

Lifts Start Turning: Winter Park & Granby Ranch Opening Days

Winter Park Resort Opening Day 2022

With temperatures dropping and the snow starting to fly, it's time to trade out our bike racks for ski racks. As we dust off our skis, boards, and boots and dig around for our gloves and helmets, snow builds up on the snow stake. Grand County's two downhill ski resorts, Winter Park  and Granby Ranch, have been prepping for months to welcome skiers and riders for their respective opening days. The energy and enthusiasm in town is palpable-we're all excited to spend more days on the snow and are grateful to live in a place where we can hop on a lift and take few runs on any given day. It never gets old, and we never take it for granted.

While we both love exploring the extensive trail system, we each have our favorite "go-to" rides. Leah makes getting out on the Tipperary Creek trail a habit as she can easily ride to the trailhead from right out her back door. This…
