Cheers to 2026! How to Celebrate New Year's Eve in Grand County

The holiday season is always magical here in the Winter Park area: snow-capped mountains, festive lights, and a slower rhythm make it easy to get into the holiday spirit. And when it comes to ringing in the New Year, there’s no shortage of ways to celebrate! Think fireworks, an outdoor silent disco, light parades on skis, live music, and even a theater performance. Truly, there’s something for everyone. From family-friendly fun to all-night dance parties, I’ve rounded up the best New Year’s Eve events and dinner specials so you don’t have to dig around and can focus on enjoying your time in the mountains. Wherever you are and however you celebrate, I hope you’re able to toast to 2026 with people you love, doing something you love. Cheers!

GRANBY RANCH LIGHT PARADE, FIREWORKS + PARTY

Staying true to its dedication to family-friendly fun, Granby Ranch knows most kids won’t make it to midnight (especially after a full day on the mountain!), so they kick off their New Year’s Eve celebration a little earlier in the evening. DJ SUNPOD will be spinning in the 8350 Lounge started at 3pm. Then the kids glow stick light parade runs from 5:15-6:15 before the annual Mountain Light Parade with Granby Ranch staff skiers lighting up the slopes at 7:45. And my favorite - a fireworks show at 8pm. It's such a fun, festive way to welcome 2026! And best of all, everyone can be tucked into bed by 10 (or even earlier if you live in the neighborhood) - a favorite yearly tradition that’s especially perfect if you’re celebrating with littles!

If you're ready to keep the party going, head into the lodge for the NYE party with music and dancing in Slopeside with DJ Travis Taylor, leading into an East Coast ball drop at 10pm. At 10:30pm, the party transitions to 21+ only (be sure to grab your wristband at the bars until 4pm or afterward at the ID check station), and the celebration wraps up at 1am.

DOWNTOWN WINTER PARK SILENT DISCO

Bring your dancing shoes (or snow boots!) for this one! The Winter Park & Fraser Chamber is hosting a New Year's Eve party at Rendezvous Event Center right in the heart of Winter Park. From 7-9pm, enjoy the silent disco by Big Little Sound or go big on the sledding hill at Hideaway Park. Sleds and tubes are provided, so all you have to do is bundle up and show up! Pack some snacks, drinks, and hot chocolate to take advantage of the free, family-friendly fun!

GRAND LAKE ROCKY MOUNTAIN REPERTORY NEW YEAR'S EVE SPECIAL

Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre is such a gift to our small mountain community, bringing shows to Grand Lake in a "does-this-really-exist-in-a-rural-mountain-town?" state-of-the-art theater. And they're bringing their putting on their New Year's Eve Special again this year! The show varies each year, but you can expect a festive, intimate evening of live entertainment featuring a professional Rocky Mountain Repertory Theatre alumni performer returning to the stage just for New Year’s Eve. The show typically blends musical theater–style songs, storytelling, and humor in a festive cabaret-style. The show starts at 9pm - get your tickets here. If you want to grab a bite to eat in Grand Lake before the show, check out some of Grand Lake's dining options.

GRAND LAKE FIREWORKS

Follow up the New Year’s Eve special at Rocky Mountain Rep by ringing in the actual New Year with the spectacular fireworks show over Grand Lake. Watch sparks light up the sky as the clock strikes midnight, with snow-capped mountains and a frozen lake creating the ultimate winter backdrop. It’s a truly magical way to welcome 2026. Definitely worth the drive (and staying up until midnight) for!

DEVIL'S CRAFT LIVE MUSIC

If you’re looking for a live music option in downtown Winter Park to celebrate the New Year, Devil’s Craft in Cooper Creek Square has you covered. Wild Love Tigress will take the stage from 10pm–1am with a high-energy set from their eight-piece band, complete with horns, background singers, and all the personality. Their sound blends hard-grooving funk and electric blues rock with a 70s throwback vibe. Get your tickets here!

RESTAURANTS & DINNER SPECIALS

Plenty of our local restaurants are ready to celebrate, too! Whether it’s special New Year’s menus, live music, or champagne toasts, they'll be ready for you!

At the base of Winter Park Resort right in the Old Town Winter Park neighborhood, The A-Frame Club is serving up a special New Year’s dinner menu followed by a true-to-its-retro-theme all-night 70s disco party.

Vertical Bistro in Winter Park Resort's Village will have live music and a free champagne toast at midnight.

Solstice Bistro (adjacent to Safeway in Fraser) is always a treat, and they're turning it up a notch to ring in the new year with a four-course New Year’s Eve prix fixe menu.

Fontenot's in downtown Winter Park will also have a special New Year's Eve menu

And also right in the heart of town, Deno’s Mountain Bistro (always a local favorite) is going big for New Year's Eve! Dinner will served until 10:30pm with menu favorites like steaks, blue crab carbonara, pork shank, and lobster tail (and plenty of champagne specials!). DJ DV8 kicks things off at 10pm, so you can follow up your dinner with dancing right into 2026!

Be sure to make your reservations in advance!
