The A-Frame Club: Winter Park's Newest Lodging & Dining Option Brings Throwback Ski Town Style to Old Town WP

Old Town Winter Park, nestled at the base of Winter Park Resort along the Fraser River, is a hidden gem off the beaten path. Most people bypass it on the way to the resort from town, and its quiet neighborhoods are tucked away from the view of highway drivers. The location is undoubtedly prime (not even half a mile from The Gondola), and its old-school ski town charm is unmistakable. The minds behind Winter Park's newest development, The A-Frame Club, capitalized on that charm, creating a unique experience that pays homage to and celebrates the ski town of yore right in the heart of Old Town Winter Park. The nostalgic vibe is complete with iconic A-frame architecture and mid-century decor, replicating some of the glory and beauty of the seventies ski era. You don't have to pack your one-piece ski suit to join "the club," but we don't think it would hurt. It's a timeless look.

LODGING

A retro vibe with modern amenities? Sold. The A-Frame Club's 31 cabins boast cozy 475-square-foot floor plans that manage to include vaulted ceilings, soaking tubs, ski/board storage, fully equipped kitchenettes, custom fireplaces, and workplace amenities. All cabins have a king-sized bed and pull out sofa. Cedar, fur, and birch panels line the two floors with vintage Pendleton accents, original David Hiser artwork, private outdoor patios, fire pits to curl up around after a long day on the mountain, and top-of-the-line robes to top off the experience. And need your ski or board tuned overnight? They've got you covered. The attention to detail and desire to optimize guest experience is evident. We haven't had the opportunity to stay there yet. but we hope to experience it soon! They've recently opened up reservations, ready to welcome guests at Winter Park's newest lodging option.

THE SALOON

The Saloon at the A-Frame Club keeps the throwback style coming. The decor incorporates vintage TVs, cedar panels, and leather furniture to create a cozy, comfortable, and inviting space that makes you want to pull up a chair and stay awhile. With a full cocktail menu that can be enjoyed in the restaurant, at the bar, or on the heated après deck facing the ski area and a dinner menu served up by a culinary director with a Michelin star background, The Saloon has the potential to be the go-to dinner spot in Grand County. Currently open daily from 3-10pm with dinner service ending at 9pm, they plan to offer lunch and grab-and-go breakfast options in the near future. Hope to bump into you on the patio there this winter!
