Soak in Grand County's Winter Wonderland on a Horse-Drawn Sleigh Ride

There's nothing like a horse-drawn sleigh ride complete with jingling bells to get you in the holiday spirit! It is a truly magical and festive experience - a unique way to take advantage of this winter wonderland we call home. Snuggle in under warm wool blankets as you tour through pristine alpine meadows and woodlands, drift through crisp pine-scented air, and soak in the beauty of the mountain scenery as snow blankets the ground. Most rides end with hot chocolate around the outdoor fire when you return to the stables, a quintessential way to  wrap up the winter fun. We love this family-friendly option for enjoying the snow at a different pace!

And it isn't just a holiday…

September Brings the Cooler Air and Changing Leaves: Explore Our Favorite Spots for Leaf Peeping from Winter Park to Grand Lake!

The heat of summer is starting to wan as the cool, crisp air makes its way to the Fraser Valley, signaling winter is just around the corner. Smoke drifts out of chimneys, frosty green grass greets us in the mornings, snow settles into the tops of peaks, and we start to layer our tank tops with fleece pullovers. Fall in Grand County truly is one of our favorite times of year. Not only do the aspens burst with vibrant gold, orange, and red, but life seems to slow down a little, making space to take advantage of our high-mountain hiking, biking, and fishing in some cooler temps before the snow flies.

If you're looking to…

Big Snows, Bluebird Days + A Calendar Full of Events Make Winter Park Your Go-to for Celebrating Spring Mountain-Style

Spring might mean daffodils and tank tops in other parts of the country. Here in Grand County, we live it up with après skis on a patio or soaking in the view of the "Bear Claw" while kick backed in a sun chair outside Lunch Rock. But we might be wearing tank tops (and snow pants) if that mountain sun is hitting just right!

Spring in the high country is about as good as it gets. As we thaw out from winter, the enthusiasm for getting on the mountain and enjoying the warmer weather is in the air throughout the valley. Something about the longer days, big snows, and (relatively) balmy 40-degree temperatures brings out the festive…

February Fun: Fraser's 2nd Annual Fire + Ice Festival

Fraser hosted its first Fire + Ice Festival last February, and it was such a fan-favorite that they are making it a tradition. This year's 2nd Annual Fire + Ice Festival is turning it up a notch by coupling it with the Colorado State Snow Sculpting Festival. The Town of Fraser and Fraser's Public Arts Committee put on the party, complete with a DJ, hot chocolate, light sticks, food trucks, an epic bonfire paying homage to Christmas trees of yore, and fireworks to top it all off. Head over to the Lion's Ponds by Safeway Saturday, February 11th between 4 and 8pm for Fraser's mid-winter festivities.

THE BONFIRE

The "fire" in the Fire + Ice Festival is in large part the massive bonfire fueled…
