Snowy Egg Hunts + Prime Brunch Spots Make it Easy to Enjoy Easter in the Mountains!
With our spring melt fully underway, we're soaking in the sunshine and warmer weather while taking full advantage of spring skiing and a more laid-back pace here in Grand County. Town has quieted down a bit after the spring break season, weekend events at Winter Park Resort are in full swing, and we're all embracing sunny après ski on the patio. The Easter season is another signal of the beauty of spring! I love how our community goes big for all holidays and offers free local events all year long, Easter being no exception. Easter in the Winter Park area brings a new meaning to the term "snow bunny" with snow egg hunts followed by cozy brunches. If you'll be in Grand County for Easter, I've put together all the Easter egg hunts and best brunch spots to help you take full advantage of Easter in the mountains!
EASTER EGG HUNTS
Winter Park

APRIL 20th: Winter Park Resort Easter CelebratioN
Winter Park Resort couples their Spring Bash + Splash celebrations with Easter fun. If you're at the resort for Easter Sunday, be sure to check out their activities and "ski down" egg hunt! Head to The village from 9am-12pm to join the Easter Bunny and hunt for Easter eggs at the Village Gazebo. Kids can use washable paint to create and take home their own Easter Bunny, load up on free candy and, take a photo with the Easter Bunny.
The Ski Egg Hunt starts at 1pm! Ski Patrol will kick off the hunt at the top of Porcupine, and kids (10 and under) can look for eggs while skiing or riding down Porcupine and Bobcat. This event is an annual favorite, so be sure to mark you calendars!

Grand Lake
APRIL 19th: GRAND LAKE FIREHOUSE EGG HUNT
Grand Lake Fire is hosting its annual Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 19th. The firehouse egg hunt is always festive and fun. Hunts are grouped by age, with ages 0-4 at 11am, ages 5-9 at 11:45am, and ages 10+ at 12am. They'll be prizes for all age groups and even an opportunity to hop in the photo booth with Sparky, the station dog. If you're not in the Grand Lake area, this one's worth the drive (and you get to enjoy the beautiful scenery along Highway 34 as our mountain lakes thaw out)!
EASTER BRUNCH
If you're planning to go out for Easter brunch, there are plenty of local-favorite brunch spots from Winter Park to Grand Lake.
Fontenot's Fresh Seafood + Grill: Right in the heart of Winter Park, Fontenot's is my go-to spot for weekend brunch. Only served on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-2pm, their breakfast menu has a mixture of traditional items and dishes with a cajun twist like Daylight in the Swamp (chicken and shrimp gumbo topped with eggs), Crab Cake Benedict, and the Creole Burrito. The Cajun Bloody Mary even comes with a boiled shrimp. And be sure to try their signature Bread Budding Biegnets with rum sauce!
Wake N' Bacon: Located in Aprés Winter Park shopping center in downtown Winter Park (just a few doors down from Conoco) Their menu offers traditional breakfast fare as well as other fun options like Chicken and Waffles and Candied Eggs. Enjoy breakfast all day every day - lunch service starts at 11am daily.
Randi's Grill + Pub: Also in downtown Winter Park, Randi's serves breakfast from 8-11am daily. Enjoy dishes like omelettes, scrambles, burritos, breakfast tacos, and biscuits an gravy. Or try one of their Irish meals like corned beef hash and bangers topped with eggs!
Carver's Breakfast + Burgers: Carver's has been a Winter Park staple for decades. Now located on the north end of town just across Telemark Dr. from Hernando's, Carver's serves breakfast daily from 8am-2pm and starts serving lunch at noon. Their menu has traditional options as well as many with a southwestern flair. Their dishes use locally-sourced ingredients, 100% cage-free eggs, and meats smoked at The Smokehouse in Winter Park. Be sure to try one of their homemade cinnamon rolls! And if it's warm enough on Easter, they have great outdoor seating options!
Sharky's Eatery: Sharky's is the best brunch spot in Fraser! Find it just off Highway 40 Conoco/Fraser Tire + Lube. It's unique beach-themed vibe in the heart of the mountains, laid-back + welcoming atmosphere, and consistently delicious food make it a local breakfast and lunch favorite. Breakfast is served all day, every day (7am-2pm), and lunch service starts at 11am. They offer traditional breakfasts, Benedicts, omelettes, and southwestern dishes for breakfast and sandwiches (try the reuben!) and burgers for lunch.
Sagebrush BBQ + Grill: Right in downtown Grand Lake on Grand Avenue, "The Sagebrush" serves breakfast from 7-11am and lunch from 11am-5pm. Their breakfast menu offers omelettes, scrambles, Benedicts, pancakes + waffles, burritos, house-made biscuits and gravy, and specialities like the Wild Game Combo (buffalo, boar + elk sausage with eggs). They even offer lighter options like avocado toast with smoked salmon. And you can take a stroll down Grand Avenue after your meal to enjoy all of Grand Lake's small-town charm!
