Right in Our Backyard: Bee-Loved by Locals + Visitors Alike

Tabernash Honey CompanyKeeping bees and harvesting honey in the High Rockies is no easy feat, but our friends at Tabernash Honey Company happily accept the challenge. With close to 300 hives, they devote themselves to caring for their bees in all kinds of weather conditions (like the snowstorms that just rolled through in late May!) because they are able to produce honey that is not only healthy and flavorful but also uniquely local to Grand County.

They've been busy getting their hives ready for the summer for what they've dubbed the "bee-son" for honey-making. Their passion for what they do is infectious, and there is no better way to get in on the fun than scheduling an hour-long hive tour. Learn about their process and the world of honeybees as you take in the world-class scenery of the Rocky Mountains.

Honey RecipesKeeping their raw honey on hand is a must for us. We love to support them and also just love their product! From a granola topping to a salmon glaze to a cocktail sweetener, the uses are endless. Check out a few of their delicious recipes or try a few from here. Their local honey tastes delicious and has a multitude of benefits. It can help curb allergies and build the immune system, soothe sunburns, heal minor cuts and scrapes, suppress coughs, soothe sore throats, and promote sleep.

Tabernash Honey Gift BasketAs you're out and about in town this summer, you might even have some Tabernash Honey without even knowing it! Locals love to support each other: Tabernash Honey can be found in the crust at Elevation Pizza, the charcuterie at Fraser Valley Distilling, and some of the beers at Big Trout Brewing. You can up pick some of their raw honey, candles, hand salve, and more at local shops like Ace Hardware, Simple Coffee Company, Sunshine Herb Corner, Naked Aspen Designs, Zach's Mercantile at Devil's Thumb Ranch, and James + Parry's in the village at Winter Park Resort.

We hope you can add a little sweet-ness to your summer with a taste of Tabernash Honey Company!
