Local Craft Breweries Pair Nicely with Warmer Spring Weather
Colorado is known for its high-quality craft breweries, and Grand County's brewery scene definitely lives up to the hype. From Winter Park to Grand Lake, local brewers and business owners have poured their hearts into creating welcoming environments that bring people together over a pint. Our breweries aren't simply a place to grab après after a day on the hill - they are gathering places that give people the opportunity to connect and share in the love of the mountains and this place we call home. And our warmer spring weather makes enjoying a brew on a patio all the more enticing!
WINTER PARK
HIDEAWAY PARK BREWERY
Winter Park's first nano-brewery, Hideaway Park Brewery's name pays homage to the original settlement in what is today Winter Park. Established nine years ago, Hideaway quickly became a local favorite. Right on Main Street in the heart of Winter Park, the cozy taproom typically offers around 11 different varieties of beer brewed right on site. Open 12-9pm daily, they focus their operation on beer-making and leave the food prep to local restaurants: grab a hot dog or burger from next door's Fraser Valley Hot Dog, a to-go pizza from Deno's, or a sandwich from The Ditch on 40.
Hosting Thursday night ski movies and backcountry safety classes in the winter and offering live music on the patio and weekly mountain bike group rides in the summer, the crew at Hideaway Park embraces the outdoor lifestyle and community that makes Grand County so easy to love.
One (of many) things we love about Hideaway Park is their "mug club." At the start of the ski season each year, you can purchase a mug to use each time you come in over the year, giving a little extra in your "pint" as well as a mug to keep at the end of the year. They even choose five local nonprofits each year as recipients of funds raised from "charity mugs."
Find their beer on tap all over the valley, grab a growler or six-pack to go from the taproom, or find them in our local liquor store!
Big Trout Brewing Company
Big Trout Brewing Company opened its doors in the summer of 2020 and has become a staple of the craft brewery scene in town. They offer a laid-back atmosphere, quality beer, a prime location, live music, and one of the best patios around. Located in Cooper Creek Square by the transit station in Winter Park, Big Trout's food menu and large selection make it a great place to grab a beer and a bite when you're out and about in Winter Park.
The micro-brewery offers a large selection of beer: from IPAs to pilsners to creative stouts using locally roasted coffee, they have something for every beer aficionado. And it's a great place to grab a drink while the kids run around the Cooper Creek Square courtyard!
We love what big supporters they are of our community. Big Trout is a welcome addition to downtown Winter Park!
The Noble Buck Brewing Co.
The Noble Buck is a full-service gastro brewery right in downtown Winter Park. Their fine food and craft beer pair up to make it easy to pass away an afternoon or evening. Twelve in-house brewed beers on tap, a full bar, and a full menu serving up modern favorites with an eclectic twist make The Noble Buck a versatile option when heading out on the town. It's a perfect destination for a quick bite after skiing, date night, or a nice dinner out with the family.
Check out their daily happy hour from 2-5pm! They always have sports playing at the bar, so you can catch March Madness while enjoying some great craft beer!
FRASER
Vicious Cycle
If you haven't stopped in, it's likely you've at least noticed Fraser's newest brewery. Vicious Cycle Brewing is right off Highway 40 as you come into Fraser from Winter Park. Nestled on the edge of the Grand Park neighborhood along the paved bike path and across the highway from Safeway, it's large and colorful moose mural adds a touch of color as you drive into town. Their newly constructed brew and tap rooms show off the beauty of the Rocky Mountains with stunning views out the windows that line the space. They can even open up their garage doors in the summer to connect the taproom with their large outdoor patio, which is a total win in our book! Warm up at the outdoor fire pit or by the indoor fireplace, grab a bite to eat at Summit Sauce food truck, or play a game of shuffleboard in the welcoming atmosphere.
They are constantly coming up with new varieties, with about 12 beers on tap at a time. From an easy-drinking gluten reduced blonde ale to a chocolate oatmeal stout, they have it all. Not only are the beers delicious, but Vicious Cycle has a calendar of events each month that make stopping by even more fun: all-day happy hour on Monday, après massages, a running club, water pong, and a disc golf putting league bring people together to enjoy a drink and community.
Camber Brewing Company
Camber Brewing Company's intimate setting lends itself to good conversations and a family vibe. Their quaint taproom on Highway 40 in Fraser is easy to lose track of time in. Known for their Wednesday night trivia and high-quality beer, Camber was the first addition to the Fraser microbrew crew and offers taproom, patio, and carry out service daily. Their outdoor patio boasts year-round fire pits, so you can enjoy your time there inside or out.
Not a beer fan? Camber also makes their own hard seltzer! Grab a brew or a seltzer, order food from Colorado Corndog Company's food truck out back, and settle in to the mountain life.
Fraser River Beer Company
A stone's throw off Highway 40, Fraser River Beer Company has an eclectic vibe--the whimsical exterior painting embraces the Fraser art scene, and both the front and back patios fit right in with the downtown Fraser laidback style. Their beer is top-notch, and it tastes even better with Shreddy's Tacos, the open-year-round food truck on the front patio. With up to 11 beers on tap, they stick with their local favorites and have several rotational seasonal brews filling up the other taps.
If you're looking for something different or aren't looking for alcohol, their Bandwagon hard seltzer, fresh-brewed kombucha, and root beer on tap are all delicious and available daily. Sit and stay awhile or grab some to-go drinks. Either way, you'll be grateful you stopped by!
GRANBY
Never Summer Brewing Company
Granby's only brewery, Never Summer Brewing Co. is in a prime location right on Granby's main drag. Named after the Never Summer Range, the brewing company got its start in 2016 and has become the local watering hole. Stop by after a day of skiing Granby Ranch or snowmobiling in Grand Lake to grab a beer (or peach seltzer or root beer!) on tap and enjoy the company of people who truly love this area.
Open Tuesday through Thursday 1:30-8pm and Friday + Saturday 12-9pm, Never Summer will welcome you with handmade soup, great beer, and games. Or just pop by and grab a growler to go!
GRAND LAKE
World's End Brewpub
Some people refer to Grand Lake as an "end-of-the-road" town - World's End Brewpub takes that moniker a step further. While it might not be the total end of the world, Grand Lake sits a the end of Highway 40 before it enters Rocky Mountain National Park, giving it an isolated and off-the-beaten-bath feel. The Grand Avenue boardwalk on which World's End Brewpub + Inn and Cabins is located gives you a sense of being away from it all while still offering a plethora of restaurants and shops to explore. Easy access to Grand Lake and its public beach, mini golfing, go-karting riding, horse-back riding, and hundreds of fresh-scooped ice cream flavors give the quaint lakeside village the small-town vibe you might be looking for. And you can grab a craft beer from the brewpub while you soak it all in!
Stop in this boutique brewery to check out their tastings or order a beer on tap from a partner brewery. We're excited to see World's End Brewpub grow with its craft selections!
