Explore All Our Libraries Have to Offer!

For most, the initial allure of our mountain community is the natural environment. There's no doubt: beauty and opportunity for recreation and adventure abound. But, as you spend more time here, you'll realize that there are so many more reasons to call this place home. One such "hidden gem" is our local library system. Just like finding a secret powder stash at the resort or a secluded stream to cool off in after a bike ride, discovering the Grand County Library District can leave you asking, "How am I just finding this?!"

A good book can bring you to a whole other world, and our local libraries connect you to new worlds not only through access to the written word but through creative resources, art, trainings, and events.  With locations in Fraser, Granby, Grand Lake, Hot Sulphur Springs, and Kremmling, the library district offers services throughout the county.

If you are a Colorado resident or property owner, you can sign up for a free library card to have full access to the library's resources. But you can always use the library study rooms, computers, printing services, and high-speed internet, join a book club, stop by for story hour, or check out the featured local artists' work without a card! Stop by, meet the friendly and welcoming staff, and find out all the library has to offer.

BOOKS

Thinking a small library district might not have the book you're looking for? Our little district offers BIG options as a member of the Marmot Library District. If one of the branches doesn't have the book you need, you can reserve it from one of the almost 40 partner libraries across the state. You'll get an email when your book arrives at the local library of your choice! Happy reading!

MORE TO BORROW THAN BOOKS!

Check out a pair of snowshoes to enjoy some of the snow before it is all gone for the season! Or try your hand at the guitar or keyboard. Want to try yoga but aren't ready to invest? Borrow a yoga mat and video. In addition to books, the library has sporting goods, instruments, games, and activities available for check out. Kids can borrow STEM activity kits, games, art supplies, and more. Pop into one of the branches, and pick something that sparks your creativity or inspires you to get out and play!
