Bring your Dancin' Shoes: Grand County's 2023 Summer Music Festivals Are Ready for You!

If you talk to a long-time local, you might hear them say something along the lines of "I came for the winters and stayed for the summers." Summer in Grand County is about as good as it gets. A welcome reprieve from the heat of the Front Range (or really any other part of the country!), our sunshine-filled days and cool air make it easy to enjoy outdoor music all summer long.

Winter ParkGranby, and Grand Lake have a summer full of music festivals planned in 2023 - definitely worth marking on your calendar!

Blues from the Top

A staple in the Grand County summer music scene, the 21st Annual Blues from the Top Music Festival is held at Rendezvous Event Center in downtown Winter Park. Grand County Blues Society is really packing in the fun for the beloved event that kicks off our music festivals for the summer. The talented line up is brings back some favorites and adds a few newcomers to the Blues Fest scene. Be sure to get your tickets in advance for this 3-day event!

Winter Park Resort teams up with The Big Wonderful again this summer! Enjoy live bluegrass, shop from over 40 craft vendors, and grab a ticket to the beer fest: over fifteen Colorado breweries, distilleries, and cideries will be pouring unlimited samples for ticket holders. Make a day of it - the event runs from 12-6pm. You can even get a few runs in at Trestle bike park before joining the festivities. The Big Wonderful knows how to start summer off on the right foot!

Jazz Fest

We love when Jazz Fest comes to town. The rhythmic sounds of saxophones and trumpets fill the streets of downtown Winter Park for the two-day festival, and the whole town feels like a party. Enjoying outdoor music in the high country in the middle of July! The 40th Annual Winter Park Jazz Festival runs all-day Saturday and Sunday, with live music playing 11am-6pm at the Rendezvous Event center. Get your tickets and start planning to enjoy some high country jazz in Winter Park this summer!

Granby Ranch Rocky MOUntain Music Series

Following up their successful 2022 summer line up, Granby Ranch is bringing their Rocky Mountain Music Series back for 2023. July 1st and August 5th will bring family-friendly, day-long outdoor music right the base of Granby Ranch. The concerts are free to attend: food, drinks, and activities will be available for purchase. Face painters, balloon artists, lawn games, scenic chair lift rides and steer roping practice areas all add to the festivities. They're still hammering out the details for the talent line up each of the two events, but they should have the music schedule up soon!

The Winter Park SolShine Concert at Rendezvous Event Center in downtown Winter Park will be an afternoon and evening of live bluegrass music. The free show starts at 4pm and wraps up at 10pm. Even though there's no cost to attend, you do need to grab a ticket if you're planning to be there! Keller Williams' Grateful Grass is headlining this year's event, featuring Keith Moseley, Jacob Jolliff, John Mailander, and Pick and Howl (2022 winners of the Rockygrass band competition). Spend your day mountain biking, hiking, or on the lake before heading over the the SolShine concert to finish off a day enjoying all the mountains have to offer in summer.

Troublesome Fest

Accurately dubbed "a musical tribute to a resilient community," the third annual Troublesome Fest pays tribute to those affected by the East Troublesome Fire, a tragedy that devastated our community and left so many without homes in the fall of 2020. And yet the outpouring of love, kindness, and generosity for those affected highlighted the beauty in our tight-knit, outwardly focused, and truly kind community. The yearly festival aims to increase and support wildfire recovery, prevention, mitigation, and education. Grand County residents have first-hand knowledge of the need for such efforts, and the whole town (and surrounding towns!) come out to support the cause each year, standing strong as a community in the midst of rebuilding after the fire swept through not even three years ago. An all day event (11am-9pm) held on the picturesque beach of Grand Lake with plenty of fun for the whole family , Troublesome Fest is a tangible example of strong community.

Are you ready to "stay for the summers"? If you're looking for a place to call home here in Grand County, we'd love to connect and learn more about you and how we can support you in your search for your new mountain home!
