Week 4

While spring in Grand County doesn't bring 75-degree weather and pool days, this last weekend of events brings a beach-day atmosphere to the snowy Rocky Mountains. Skiers and snowboarders in Hawaiian shirts, hula skirts, and leis pepper the mountain, and the base party has the beach vibes we've all been longing for after a winter full of sub-zero mornings!

Saturday, April 23: Beach Bash

Catch the all-day fun at the base of the Parkside. After a few runs, find a beach chair, listen to some beach music, and grab a fruity drink with an umbrella.

Spring Splash pond skim skier kidSunday, April 24: Spring Splash

Celebrate the Parkside's closing day with a much-loved tradition: Spring Splash. Gliding across an icy pond has marked the end of ski seasons in America since the 1920s. Costumed skiers and snowboarders try their hands at Winter Park's pond skim while the rowdy crowd cheers them on. Adults and kids alike love this event--a great way to close out the ski season at this mountain that is the heart of the Winter Park community!

Early May C-Lot Party (official closing day of Winter Park Resort)

The Mary Jane side of the resort can stay open a little longer than the Winter Park side, and the C Lot party celebrates Mary Jane’s last day with lifts running: a tradition loved by “weekend warriors” and locals alike. Tailgating and live music in the Utah Junction Lot (aka the C Lot, dubbed for its proximity to the Challenger Lift, or C-chair) abound. Costumes, a festive atmosphere, and slushy bump skiing make this a party worth putting on the calendar!
