Small-town Rodeos at Their Finest: The High Country Stampede and Flying Heels Arena Do it Right!

Grand County, Colorado Rodeos

Pull on your boots and slide on your western hat: Grand County rodeos are ready for you every Saturday this summer! Designed to entertain all ages, these rodeos bring out the small-town charm and western roots of our little valley. Both the Flying Heels Arena in Granby and the High Country Stampede in Fraser run every Saturday night this summer, rain or shine. The Granby rodeo got its start in June and ends the last Saturday in July while the Fraser rodeo started mid-summer and runs until August 13th.

Junior Rodeo – 1:00pm
Western BBQ – 6:00 – 9:00pm

Open Rodeo at 7:00pm

The Granby rodeo is the longest running rodeo series in the county and has been at its current location at the Flying Heels Arena just off Highway 40 since 1969. They have all the standard events as well as special events throughout the summer like Flintstone Gravel Belgian Team/Hitch, Shockwave's Trick and Fancy Riding Team, the famous Westernaires, the unique motorcycle barrel race, mounted shooting, mini broncs, and more! Support the local Rotary Club by purchasing concessions and enjoy them in the covered bleachers--the rain doesn't stop you from enjoying the show, and you might even get to see a rainbow over the hills and mountains surrounding this venue!

This year, Flying Heels Arena will host a Colorado Professional Rodeo Association event on Labor Day weekend to close out the rodeo season.

We hope you get a chance to enjoy one (or both) of the rodeos this summer!
