Winter Park's Newest Small Business, South + West Provisions Will Turn Your Charcuterie Game up a Notch!

I recently planned a birthday celebration for a friend: pickleball and apps at Wolf Park post a quick mountain bike on the Phases. Does springtime in the mountains get any sweeter? But timing got away from me as the elaborate charcuterie I'd hoped to bring didn't seem to fabricate itself. Enter: South + West Provisions. This new addition to downtown Winter Park brings the gourmet après ski, happy hour, game-day food, workshop and private event-provider scene to the heart of town.

We love how the owners of South + West, mother-daughter duo Rachel Thackston and Jordin Fletcher, have created their own niche. Originally from Georgia and now at home in Grand County, their goal is to marry their southern hospitality with a love of small-town "mountain time" as they share their passion for food and community. They're not a restaurant (but they do have some great grab-and-go lunch options!). They're not only a meat and cheese shop. They're not only a happy hour stop. They're all that and a meeting place that connects people through good food, good wine, and good conversation. They've dubbed themselves a "boutique," and their vision to "connect people and community through quality ingredients, unique pairings and a thoughtfully curated atmosphere" rings true when you walk in the door.

LOCATION

Located in the renamed Après Center in downtown Winter Park and next door to Wake 'N Bacon, South + West, true to its southern roots, creates a place where you want to pull up a chair and stay awhile. Grab something to drink, peruse their selection of handmade and local goods, order your fill of gourmet meat and cheese from the deli counter, and pick up quick lunch or charcuterie to fuel your mountain adventures.

Having operated with a successful online presence in the community the past few years, Rachel and Jordin were looking for an opportunity to connect with the people they serve with a brick-and-mortar location. Downtown Winter Park was an easy pick! Daily conversations with people who stop by the shop, workshop events at the storefront, private in-home workshops for small parties, and catered events give them the opportunity to connect with the community they love.

HOURS

The storefront is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through mud season. But, keep your eye on their Facebook page for updated hours as we roll into summer!

MENU

Lunch grab-and-go options change weekly on Mondays. From sandwiches to sweet treats, they're ready for your lunchtime cravings. One of the recent favorites has been the turkey (sourced locally from Fitch Ranch), gouda, pink lady apple & strawberry jam on toasted buttermilk bread. Not only do they whip up some of the best sandwiches in town, they're a perfect stop when you're on the go. Skip the wait--you can be in and out in less than five minutes!

Their charcuterie and appetizer menu brings a much-welcome addition to our small mountain town.  Our favorite is the Après Board paired with the Mimi "Eat Your Veggies Board." The best of both worlds, you get hearty meats and cheeses while balancing it out with the expertly curated crudité.

EVENTS

It's easy to see why South and West Provisions has quickly established  itself as a local gathering place and go-to for events.  Their commitment to bringing people together is at the heart of what they do. The Crafternoon Series kicked off May 21st and will be ready for you Sunday afternoons throughout the summer. Stop by, grab a mimosa, and dive into to the DIY fun of crafts like dried flower candle holders and hand-pressed fruit and citrus tea towels (think Anthropologie napkins!).

Have a private event and need to up your appetizer game? They'll bring the goods for you. Looking to celebrate a friend's birthday with a unique get together? Book their private workshops. Keep an eye on their calendar for public workshops and events!

READY TO BECOME A SOUTH + WEST REGULAR?

If popping by for a custom-ordered charcuterie after a day spent enjoying the mountains sounds like your style, a new home in Grand County might be on your radar. We'd love to connect to discuss how we can support you in getting into the real estate market here or relocating within the county. We truly love this place and would be honored to help you navigate the market and find  the best real estate investment for you here in our neck of the Rockies.
