Granby's Fitch Ranch Meats & Market Brings the Ranch to Your Table
Walking into Fitch Ranch Meats and Market makes you want to grab a cup of coffee and stay awhile. The smell of freshly-cooked bacon and that just-right blend of seasonings fills the air, giving the sense that you just stepped off the ranch into Grandma's kitchen. The staff is friendly and greets you like family; they're passionate about food and, of course, meat. Just under a year-old, this market and cafe on the corner of Highways 40 and 34 brings innovation and a fresh look to what was most recently the Chuck Wagon Cafe & Bar just at the end of Granby's Main Street.
THE FITCH FAMILY
The Fitch family raises cattle on their Parshall ranch, priding themselves on stewarding the land well and raising cattle with care. All of their beef is from free-range cattle raised on high-quality, nutritious mountain grasses. They couple their passion for ranching and raising premium beef with their love of serving others. As both ranchers and restauranteurs, the Fitch's serve our county at multiple restaurants: FR Bar and Steakhouse in Grand Lake, Debbie's Drive-In in Granby, and now the cafe at Fitch Ranch Meats & Market. They've even acquired a meat processing plant in Craig, Colorado, allowing them to oversee it all--from the ranch to your table.
THE MARKET
The market offers so much more than the beef the Fitch family raises. It's obvious they are committed to connecting local producers to consumers. They sell lamb, chicken, and pork that is mostly raised from local ranchers and farmers like Sisu Farms and even offer fresh fish. Bundles of meat can be purchased at the market or ordered online. Fresh eggs, local honey, and hot sauce line the shelves as well. Feeding Francis Salt, a Colorado company, offers salts and sugars that pair well with the market's meat offerings. Or need to wow with an appetizer at your next gathering? They have everything you need for a charcuterie board: artisan cheese, meats, crackers, and wine make it a one-stop shop. You can even pick up a hand-crafted, locally made charcuterie board! Be sure to swing by and check it out next time you're driving by!
THE CAFE
Turn the corner out of the market, and you'll find the welcoming cafe. The wooden tongue-and-groove walls, wagon wheels hanging from log timbers, and natural rock fireplace give it an old ranch house vibe. And their passion for food is clear--we haven't tried anything we didn't love! From flapjacks to steak and eggs, the breakfast menu has something for everyone. They switch over to lunch at noon and have burgers and sandwiches worth making the drive over for. The cafe is open daily from 8am to 3pm.
Need something for the road? Pick up some of their wagon wheel pizza for a quick meal or movie night! You can even order it online. Or need an idea for preparing some of their meat at home? Once you've tried the cafe, you know you can trust their recipes, several of which they share on their website.
The cafe is a welcoming addition to Granby's restaurant scene, and we're grateful the Fitch family is so committed to serving our community in creative ways!
