Grand County Goes Big for the 4th of July!
The quintessential summer holiday is best celebrated in the ideal summer location--the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in what, in our opinion, is one of the best mountain communities around. Simply being up in the mountains with the cooler air and opportunity to play outside might be your idea of the perfect 4th. From riding the hundreds of miles of mountain biking trails, hiking around lakes or to the top of peaks, heading out for an afternoon on the boat, rafting a river, fishing some of Grand County's gold medal waters, playing at Winter Park Resort's base, or taking laps at Trestle, it's one of the best places to be this time of year.
And it's definitely worth making a pit stop between your outdoor adventures at one of the county's multitude of 4th of July events that fill the week's calendar. Grand County pulls out all the stops to celebrate the founding of our country: from parades to fireworks to live music, the four-day party has something for everyone. We've compiled all the events and put them together in one place so you can spend your time enjoying the holiday instead of digging for event information! SATURDAY, JULY 1st
7am: Granby Airport Fly-in and Pancake Breakfast
8am: Kremmling's KowTown Gravel Bike Race (followed by a post-race party at The Town Square from 2-6pm)
10:30am: Granby's 5K Color Run
2pm: Granby Ranch Rocky Mountain Music Series
4:30-6:30pm: Camper Rig Rally at Rendezvous Event Center
6:30-8:30pm: 5Point Adventure Film Festival at Rendezvous Event Center
7pm: Granby Rodeo at Flying Heels Arena
7pm: Fraser's High Country Stampede Rodeo
SUNDAY, JULY 2nd
9am: Fitness in the Park (yoga at the Rendezvous Event Center)
11am: Granby Family Bike Parade
7pm: Granby Rodeo at Flying Heels Arena
MONDAY, JULY 3rd
7pm: Granby Rodeo at Flying Heels Arena
9:15pm(ish): Fireworks after the Granby Rodeo at Flying Heels Arena
TUESDAY, JULY 4th!
9am: Rendezvous Run for Independence from Winter Park Resort to downtown Winter Park
11am: Granby's 4th of July parade down Main Street (true small-town America at its finest)
12pm: Party in the Park at Granby's Polhamus Park right after the parade
5:30pm: Winter Park 4th of July Celebration + Concert at Rendezvous Event Center
After dark: Grand Lake's fireworks show over the lake
